Cortney Hallahan, Kelsey Pedersen, Anna Lano record wins over Bethel

MENOMONIE (September 30, 2014) - Cortney Hallahan (Sr, Lester Prairie, Minn), Kelsey Pedersen (Lake Elmo, Minn) and Anna Lano (Jr, Chaska, Minn) picked up singles wins in UW-Stout's 6-3 loss to Bethel University Tuesday.

Hallahan, playing at No. 2 singles, captured a 6-4, 6-3, win over Maddy Simpson. Playing at No. 4 singles, Pedersen, this week's UW-Stout/Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week after winning four matches last weekend (see interview below), came back to take a 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 10-3, lengthy win over Abby Kreklau. Lano recovered from a tight first set to down Hannah Quinn at No. 6 singles, 7-5, 6-1.

Angela Braun (Jr, Brookfield) lost a tough No. 1 singles match, 6-3, 3-6, 10-4, to Larissa Voss.

The Blue Devils return to action Friday, Oct. 3 at UW-River Falls, then return home to face UW-Oshkosh, Saturday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m.
