Blue Devils outshoot Scots, but own goal gives Macalester win

ST. PAUL, Minn (September 23, 2014) - UW-Stout outshot Macalester College by more than a 2-1 margin, but accidently deflected a corner kick into their own goal and lost a 1-0 game to the Scots Wednesday evening.

Stout (2-4-2) posted a 16-5 advantage in overall shots and held a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal. Stout's Paige Meyer (Jr, Beldenville) had four saves, while the Scots' Emma Toomer had seven saves.

The only goal of the game came in the 67th minute. Macalester (4-2-1) took five corner kicks to Stout's four.

Stout will return to WIAC action Saturday, Sept. 27 when they travel to UW-Oshkosh. The Blue Devils will host UW-River Falls, Wednesday, Oct. 1.
