Blue Devils take two games Sunday with offensive outbursts

CLERMONT, Fla (March 16, 2014) - UW-Stout got offensive in taking a pair of games Sunday at the National Training Center College Games. The Blue Devils scored eight runs over the final two innings for an 8-5 win over Farleigh Dickinson University in the opening game, then got solid pitching from Tori Workman and aggressive base running to take an 8-1 win over Keene State later in the day.

The Blue Devils (5-5) were down 5-0 to Farleigh Dickinson (1-2) when Nicole Rogers highlighted a five-run sixth inning with a base-loaded triple, then scored on a throwing error.

Taylor Workman followed suit in the seventh inning with a three-run home run.

In the second game against Keene (1-1), Stout scored a run in the first and three in the second. Stout added two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings. Tori Workman got the win, working four innings, allowing no runs and scattering two hits.

Stout is scheduled to meet a pair of Wisconsin schools Monday when they take on Ripon College and Carroll University, weather permitting.
