CLERMONT, Fla (March 15, 2014) - UW-Stout left the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning a 6-3 loss to Bethel University, then couldn't push a run across in a 1-0 eight inning loss to Rowan University on the opening day of the Blue Devils' spring break trip to the National Training Center Spring Games Saturday.
Trailing 6-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh against Bethel,the Blue Devils pushed a run across on
Jessica Behnke's (Sr, Bruce) single, but that would be it.
Bethel scored two runs in the second and a single run in the third before Stout cut the lead to 3-1 in the fourth inning on a single by
Taylor Workman (Jr, Prior Lake, Minn). Bethel added three runs in the sixth, and Stout got one back in the bottom of the sixth when
Kaitlin Stark (So, Hastings, Minn) opened the inning with a double and came home on
Sam Hastings' (Sr, Waukesha) single.
Stout had a opportunity to score in the seventh inning of the Rowan game, leaving the bases loaded. Rowan got the single run in the bottom of the eighth with the international tie-breaker run in play.
Stout is scheduled to play Farleight Dickinson University and Keene State, Sunday, March 16.
