Nortthland scores two goals in final period to force 2-2 tie

UW-Stout 2, Northland College 2

ASHLAND (November 25, 2014) - Northland College scored twice in the third period, and UW-Stout and the Lumberjacks played to a 2-2 overtime tie at Bay Area Civic Center Tuesday.

Stout (2-5-1) opened the scoring when Jake Useldinger (Jr, East Grand Forks, Minn) scored shorthanded five minutes into the game. He was assisted by Justin Moody (So, Grand Forks, ND). The next 35 minutes-plus of game time were scoreless, but the third period was a different story.

The Lumberjacks (1-6-1) tied the score when Darius Cole scored 1:29 into the third period. Stout took the lead back on Craig Lindegard 's (So, Hallock, Minn) power play goal two minutes later, with an assist by Moody.  Northland tied the score midway through the third on a goal by Matt Lennon, and neither team would tickle the twine the rest of the way.

Stout's Spencer Viele (So, Wildwood, Mo) recorded 30 saves, while the Lumberjacks' Jesse DeLillio had 27 saves.

Stout is off until they head into conference action by traveling to UW-River Falls, Thursday, Dec. 4 and to UW-Stevens Point, Saturday, Dec. 6.
