Blue Devils toppled by nationally ranked Cardinals, 68-54

WINONA, Minn (November 21, 2014) - Becca Smith (So, Victoria, Minn) and Katie Nickles (Sr, Braham, Minn) came off the bench to lead UW-Stout in scoring, but the Blue Devils fell to 23rd-ranked St. Mary's University, 68-54, Friday.

Nickles scored a career-high 12 points to lead Stout, stepping outside the post to pop in four 3-poiinters. Smith finished with 11 points, getting the bulk of her points at the line, draining 7-of-8 charity shots.

The Cardinals (4-0) held a 35-15 halftime lead and limited Stout to 30 percent shooting from the floor (14-47). Stout (1-3) shot well at the free throw line, hitting 21-of-30 shots from the stripe.

St. Mary's was led by Molly O'Toole with 21 points. Shelby Auseth added 19.
