MENOMONIE (October 18, 2014) - UW-Stout's doubles teams put up some feisty numbers against conference favorite UW-Whitewater before the Warhawks captured the three matches, but the Warhawks had no problems in single competition on their way to a 9-0 win at the South Tennis Courts Saturday.

Stout's No. 1 doubles team of Angela Braun (Jr, Brookfield) and Cortney Hallahan (Sr, Lester Prairie, Minn) held a 3-2 lead in the match before the Warhawks' Alicia Beck and Jillian Wallace took the final six games for an 8-3 win. Anna Lano (Jr, Chaska, Minn) and Emma Pedersen (So, Eau Claire) were downed 8-2 at No. 2 doubles.

Stout's No. 3 team of Danielle Lutz (So, Maple Grove, Minn) and Jenna Welke (Fr, Chippewa Falls) just about took the Warhawks' Brooke Hendricks and Alex Talyansky the distance before getting edged out, 8-6.

In singles, the Warhawks did not give up more than two games in any set. The Warhawks have won more than 60 consecutive WIAC dual matches.

The Blue Devils are off until the WIAC Tennis Championship, Oct. 25-26 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison.
