UW-Stout 2, UW-Superior 1
SUPERIOR (January 18, 2014) - UW-Stout's
Jordan Tredinnick (Jr, Onalaska) found the back of the net midway through the second period and the Blue Devil defense made the lead stand up for a 2-1 win over UW-Superior Sunday at Wessman Arena.
Coming off a 6-1 loss the previous night, the win keeps Stout at 2-2 in the WIAC with a full slate of games ahead of them.
Just like the night before, the Yellowjackets took the early lead, only to see UW-Stout come back to tie the game. Superior's Joey Massingham scored on a power play goal four minutes into the game.
Fifteen minutes later, Stout equalized the score when
Tyler Cayemberg (Fr, East Troy) scored, with a assist from
Logan Maly (Sr, Rio).
Tredinnick scored unassisted at 10:45 of the second period and Stout goalkeeper
Corey Koop (Fr, Squamish, BC) turned back 15 third period goals. Koop finished the night with 39 saves. The Yellowjackets' Drew Strandburg stopped 30 shots.
Stout will host St. John's University, Saturday, Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in what will be Stout's first home game in 51 days.
