 MENOMONIE (September 14, 2013) - UW-Stout used a clean sweep to get their first win over the season as they blanked Bethany Lutheran, 9-0, Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Devils hosted a triangular and opened the day with a 7-2 conference loss to UW-Stevens Point.
Emma Pedersen (Fr, Eau Claire) collected a pair of wins, taking a 6-2, 6-3, win over Kayla Fuller of Stevens Point at No. 6 singles, then stepped up to No. 5 singles to take a 6-0, 6-1, win over the Vikings Anna Weichmann.
Cortney Hallahan (Jr, Lester Prairie, Minn) also picked up a pair of singles wins, downing UW-Stevens Point's Ali Bichler at No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-2, and Bethany Lutheran's Anna Wiechmann 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4 singles.
The Blue Devils return to action, Sunday, Sept. 29 when they will host Mount Mary College at 11 a.m.
