MENOMONIE (November 9, 2013) - Gustavus Adolphus scored the first three goals of the game, allowing UW-Stout a late goal, on their way to a 3-1 win over the Blue Devils Saturday at the Dunn County Ice Arena.
After being virtually shut down in the first period, the Gusties (2-2-0) came to life in the second stanza, outshooting Stout, 14-9 in the period and picking hp the first goal of the game by Alex Gallen at the 4:44 mark.
Adam Smyth scored two third period goals for the Gusties, one at 6:54 and the second at 16:38.
Stout (2-2-0) got on the board very late in the game when
Danny Ray (So, Grand Forks, ND) scored with 19 seconds left on the clock.
Stout's
Corey Koop (Fr, Squamish, BC) took the loss with 30 saves. John McLean captured the win with 26 saves.
Stout will be at Augsburg College, Friday, Nov. 15 and at St. Thomas, Saturday, Nov. 16.
