MINNEAPOLIS, Minn (November 15, 2013) -The Augsburg offensive attack was strong in their 2-1 defeat of UW-Stout. The Auggies out shot the Blue Devils 31-14 for the game. The game was tied 1-1 until 14:27 into the third period when Eric Ordahl scored the go ahead and eventual game winning goal.
The Blue Devils got on the scoreboard first thanks to a
Craig Lindegard (Fr, Hallock, Minn) power play goal 14:09 into the first period. The goal was assisted by
Matt Millis (Jr, Black River Falls). Augsburg knotted the score 1-1 with a power play goal of their own, 7:09 into the second period. Nicholas Widing scored for the Auggies, and BJ McClellan earned an assists on the play.
Both goalies held strong the rest of the way, before Augsburg eventually broke through with the game winner, with 5:33 remaining in regulation.
Corey Koop (Fr, Squamish, BC) finished with 29 saves for the game. Matthew Bartels finished with 13 for the Auggies.
The Blue Devils will travel to St. Thomas, Saturday Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.
