Lake Forest College 3, UW-Stout 0
MENOMONIE (November 1, 2013) - Lake Forest scored a power play goal, an even strength goal and a short handed goal to give UW-Stout their first loss of the season, a 3-0 shutout Friday at the Dunn County Ice Arena.
The Foresters (1-0-0) got on the board two minutes into the second period on a power play goal by Jason McAloon. The Foresters doubled the score with an even strength goal by Andrew Stein at the 14;29 mark of the second period. McAloon got his second goal of the evening to make it 3-0. a short handed goal with 33 seconds remaining in the game.
The Blue Devils (1-1-0) outshot the Foresters, 33-27, but Forester goalie Leo Podolsky stopped all 33 saves.
Corey Koop (Fr, Squamish, BC) recorded 24 saves in his second start.
Both teams spent a fair amount of time in the penalty box. Stout committed nine penalties for 18 minutes, while Lake Forest was whistled eight times for 16 minutes.
Stout will host Hamline University, Friday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Gustavus Adolphus, Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
