Blue Devils fall at home to the Falcons

(MENOMONIE-October 10, 2013)-  Cortney Hallahan (Jr, Lester Prairie, Minn) continued her winning ways, picking up her 5th victory in a row, but it wasn't enough as UW-Stout fell 7-2 to UW-River Falls.   Hallahan defeated Brittany Mohn at No. 5 singles, 7-5,6-4.

Angela Braun (So. Brookfield) picked up the other victory for the Blue Devils at No. 2 singles, 6-4,7-5. 

Abby Cornelius (Jr, Golden Valley, Minn) suffered a close defeat in No. 1 singles, taking the match to three sets before eventually falling by scores of 5-7,7-5,10-4.

Emma Pedersen (Fr, Eau Claire) lost a tight three set decision 5-7,6-4,2-6.

All three doubles defeats were close affairs.  Abby Cornelius and Emily Grossen (Sr. Monroe) lost 6-8.  Molly Denney (Jr. Duluth) and Angela Braun fell by a score of 5-8.  Emma Pedersen and Anna Lano (So. Chaska) fell in the No. 3 doubles match 7-9. 

Stout returns to action tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 11 when they host UW-La Crosse at 3 p.m.
