Titans sweep Blue Devils as tennis match moved inside

MENOMONIE (October 5, 2012) - The wind and the cold pushed the UW-Stout and UW-Oshkosh tennis teams inside, but the Titans continued blowing as they defeated the Blue Devils, 9-0, in the Sports and Fitness Center Friday.

Kelsey Pedersen (Fr, Lake Elmo, Minn) came the closest to picking up some points. After dropping a 6-3 first set at No. 4 single, Pedersen took Megan Etten to a tie breaker in the second set before falling, 7-6 (7-3).

Molly Denney (So, Duluth, Minn), at No. 3 singles, and Abby Cornelius (So, Golden Valley, Minn) both stayed close in the first set, dropping 6-4 decisions at No. 3 and No. 1 singles, respectively. But Denny lost, 6-0, to Vallerie Langkau and Cornelius, 6-1, to Preslee Nolte.

Stout will host Bethany Lutheran, Saturday, Oct. 6 at 2:30 p.m.
