Box Score UW-Eau Claire 4, UW-Stout 1
EAU CLAIRE (October 27, 2012) - UW-Eau Claire broke open a tied game with three third period goals and went on to a 4-1 win over UW-Stout Saturday at Hobbs Ice Arena.
The Blugolds (2-0-0, 2-0-0 NCHA, 2-0-0 WIAC) got on the board first with a goal by Ethan Nauman at the nine minute mark of the second period.
Stout (0-2-1, 0-2-0 NCHA, 0-2-0 WIAC) knotted the score when
Garrett Grimstad (Sr, Rochester, Minn) scored his first goal of the season with an assist by
Ricky Doriott (Sr, Blaine, Minn) at the 15 minute mark of the second period.
But the floodgates opened for the Blugolds in the third. Andrew Wilcox scored two minutes into the period. Wilcox scored his second goal of the game with four minutes left in the game. Jordan Singer scored an unassisted goal just under two minutes left in the game for the final 4-1 score.
Tom Lescovich (Sr, Clifton Park, NY) recorded 42 saves for Stout, while Brandon Stephenson notched 22 saves.
Stout will be at St. John's University, Friday, Nov. 2 and at Concordia-Moorhead, Saturday, Nov. 3. Stout's first home game will be Friday, Nov. 9 when they host Augsburg College.
