Blue Devil tennis takes win over Bethany Lutheran

ST. PETER, Minn (April 9, 2011) - Despite having to forfeit two matches, the UW-Stout tennis team recorded a 5-4 win over Bethany Lutheran College, Saturday, at the Swanson Tennis Center at Gustavus Adolphus College.

Allie Hinman (Sr, Lino Lakes, Minn) had little trouble with Rebecca Kopacek at No 1 singles, taking a 6-0, 6-1, win. Elizabeth Lehnertz (Fr, Cary, Ill) needed three sets to defeat Sarah Wagner at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 3-6, 10-6. Natasha Haywood (Fr, Woodbury, Minn) defeated Ellen Tommerdahl at No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-2.

Stephanie Schick (Jr, Altoona) and Katie Sorensen (So, Neenah) defeated Brook Osmundson and Sarah Wagner at No. 2 doubles, 8-4.

Stout will close out the 2010-11 season when they will face St. Norbert College and St. Mary's College, April 30 in Winona, Minn.
