ST. PAUL, Minn (April 10, 2011) - Bri Conrad (Jr, South St. Paul, Minn) recorded a pair of wins as UW-Stout took both games over St. Catherine, 5-1, 15-7, Sunday.

Conrad earned the first game win, pitching six innings, scattering six hits and allowing only one run while striking out seven and issuing one walk. Tara Kimberly (Jr, Baldwin) came on to pitch the final inning, allowing one hit to seal the win.

In the second game, Conrad came on in relief in the third inning, allowing six hits and two earned runs while pitching 3.2 innings. She recorded two strikeouts.

In the opener, the winless Wildcats drew first blood, scoring their only run in the game on a solo home run by Shae Elliott, Conrad's only real mistake of the game.

Stout pounded their way back with a four-run fourth inning. Shanen Stainer (Fr, Menomonie) drove in a run and Erika Wolf (Fr, Elmwood) delivered a two-run double to left field. Wolf scored the final run of the inning, advancing to third on a passed ball, then scoring on error by third base.

Stout got their final run of the game when Sammy Peterson (Jr, Hudson) recorded her first collegiate home run, leading off the fifth inning.

Hannah Sweet (Fr, Elk River, Minn) was 3-for-4,w hile Stainer was 2-for-3.

In the second game, Stout jumped all over St. Kate's in the first inning, scoring four runs, highlighted by Kelly Conway's (Sr, La Crescent, Minn) three-run double. St. Kate's scored three runs in the bottom of the third, but Stout scored two runs in the second as Courtney Richardson (Fr, Miltona, Minn) tripled in a run and Sam Hastings (Fr, Waukesha) drove in another run.

St. Kate's tied the score with a three run third period. Stout added two runs in the fourth, a Richardson solo home run and a Sweet RBI single. But St. Catherine's wasn't done, tacking on a single run in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 8-7.

But that would be it as Richardson drove in two runs in the fifth and then scored on a wild pitch. The Blue Devils would use the home run ball to salt the game away in the sixth. Stainer had a three-run home run and Alison Gray (So, St. Cloud, Minn) hit a solo home run.

Richardson was 3-for-5 with four RBI n the game. Stainer was 2-for-4 with three RBI. Hastings, Sweet and Conrad each had two hits.

Stout is scheduled to host UW-Stevens Point, Monday, April 11 at 3 p.m., then travel to UW-River Falls, Wednesday, April 13.
