SUPERIOR (January 29, 2011) -
Charles Lachance (So, Quebec City, Quebec) scored the lone goal of the game in the first period and the UW-Stout defense made the goal standup as the Blue Devils took a 1-0 win at UW-Superior Saturday.
The game wasn't even close to the last time the two teams met two weeks ago in Menomonie when the Yellowjackets tallied 15 goals in a weekend sweep.
Tom Lescovich (So, Clifton Park, NY) shut out the Yellowjackets by making 37 saves, including 16 in the third period.
Lachance scored the game-winning goal at 7:56 in the first period, getting an assist from
Garrett Grimstad (So, Rochester, Minn).
Superior goalie Drew Strandberg had 24 saves.
Stout will be at UW-Eau Claire, Thursday, Feb. 3 and at UW-River Falls, Friday, Feb. 4.
