MENOMONIE (February 4, 2010) - UW-Eau Claire scored six unanswered goals, including four in the second period, and the Blugolds went on to defeat UW-Stout, 6-1, Thursday at the Dunn County Ice Arena.
Stout (9-9-4, 6-5-4) opened the scoring seven minutes into the first period on a goal by
Joe Beaudette (Fr, Blaine, Minn), with an assist by
Andy Sternberg (Sr, Duluth, Minn).
It was all Eau Claire (7-12-3, 3-9-3) after that. The Blugolds' DJ Clark scored unassisted with just over a minute left in the first period to knot the score.
In the second period Eau Claire got goals from Jordan Singer, Isaiah Bennis, Tyler Romasco and Bryce Wilcox. The Blugolds wrapped the scoring up with a power play goal midway through the third period by Nic Weight.
Eau Claire outshot Stout 32-24.
Stout will host UW-River Falls, Friday, Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the final regular season home game.
