UW-Stout 2, Concordia-Wis 0
CEDARBURG (October 22, 2010) - UW-Stout opened the 2010-11 season with a 2-0 shutout over Concordia University at the Ozaukee Ice Center Friday.
The Blue Devils wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as
Casey Kirley (Fr, Hayward) opened the scoring with a goal five minutes into the contest. Kirley got assists from
Joel Whited (Jr, Indianapolis, Ind) and
Logan Rounds (Fr, Anchorage, AK).
The teams played scoreless until the third period when Stout doubled the score as
Matt Morin (So, Brooklyn Park, Minn), who sat out last season due to injury, scored with three minutes left in the game on assists by
Dan Cecka (Fr, Woodbury, Minn) and
Sam Carr (So, Roseau, Minn).
Tom Lescovich (So, Clifton Park, NY) notched the second shutout of his career by making 28 saves.
Stout will hit the road again Monday, Oct. 25 when they travel to Marian University in Fond du Lac.
