DECORAH, Iowa (October 2, 2010) - UW-Stout lost a 7-2 decision to Central College earlier in the day, then trailed host Luther College, 5-0, when the four top singles matches were called due to darkness Saturday at Luther College.
Allie Hinman (Sr, Lino Lakes, Minn) won at both No. 1 singles and with
Abby Werwie (So, Kenosha) at No. 1 doubles against Central to get Stout's only wins. Hinman defeated Sara Dale, 6-3, 6-3. Hinman and Werwie defeated Dale and Stephanie Gibbons, 8-3.
At No. 5 singles,
Sammie Swanson (Fr, Eau Claire) lost to Carissa Bane, 5-7, 6-4, 10-7 and, along with
Samantha Kletscher (Fr, Brainerd, Minn), lost to Emily Swartz and Kayla Donner, 9-7, at No. 2 doubles.
Stout will host UW-Oshkosh, Saturday, Oct. 9 at 10 a.m.
