Stout hockey falls to St. Scholastica

Stout outshoots Scholastica, but falls, 3-0

MENOMONIE, Wis. (January 30, 2010) - Despite outshooting St. Scholastica, 42-28, the Blue Devils fell to the Saints, 3-0, Saturday night at Dunn County Ice Arena.

The Saints' Aaron Spotts captured the lead with 11 minutes to play in the second period.  St. Scholastica increased their lead to two with a goal midway through the third period.  Jordan Chong virtually sealed the win when he gave his team a 3-0 lead on a breakaway goal with six minutes to play in the game.

Stout was unable to put any goals on the board, despite having eight power play opportunities.

Zach Kleimen recorded 42 saves in his ninth victory of the season, while Nick Hopper (Fr, Culver City, Calif.) made 25 saves on the evening.

Stout will return to action, Thursday, Feb. 4 to host UW-Eau Claire.  The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
