Blue Devils' Hinman wins eighth match of young season

BELOIT (September 13, 2009) - Stout's Allie Hinman (Jr, Lino Lakes, Minn) ran her overall record to 8-1 and won her fourth and fifth consecutive matches with dominating wins at Beloit College Sunday.

The Blue Devils opened the day with a 6-3 loss to host Beloit College, then bounced back to take a 7-2 win over Loras College.

Hinman, playing at No. 1 singles, was coming off three straight wins to capture the A Singles Draw at the Warhawk Invitational Saturday, then dropped only three sets in her two wins on Sunday. Hinman defeated Hannah Perwin of Beloit, 6-0, 6-2, then took a win of 6-0, 6-1 over Ale Ruales of Loras College.

Hinman teamed with Abby Werwie (Fr, Kenosha) to win both No. 1 doubles matches, downing both Beloit, 8-3, and Loras 8-0.

Katie Sorensen (Fr, Neenah) won two matches at No. 6 singles, defeating Beloit's Lucia Peralta, 6-3, 5-7, 12-10, and Loras' Sara Pennebacker, 6-2, 6-4.

Werwie, #Stephanie Schick (So, Altoona) and Erin James# (Fr, Menomonie) each got singles wins against Loras. Schick and Anna Eckhardt (Fr, Greendale) paired for a No. 3 doubles win over Loras.

Stout returns to action Saturday, Sept. 19 at UW-Oshkosh where they will face the Titans and Lawrence University.
