Fastpitch team to open season on Friday in Rosemount

MENOMONIE  (February 19, 2009) - The UW-Stout softball team, with eight returners and 11 newcomers, will get the season underway, Friday, Feb. 20 when they face St. Scholastica at the Irish Dome in Rosemount, Minn.

The Blue Devils return starting pitchers Katie Fichter and Kristy Hoffman, infielders Nelly Peterson and Kelly Conway, designated player Taylor Wild, catcher Emily Rehurek, and outfielders Kaitlin Helgaas and Lisa Reiter.

The doubleheader is scheduled to get underway at 10 a.m. The Irish Dome is near the Rosemount High School.
