Tennis closes regular season with loss to Eagles

MENOMONIE (October 17, 2009) - Allie Hinman (Jr, Lino Lake, Minn) picked up UW-Stout's lone win and Stephanie Schick (So, Altoona) put together a strong effort in a loss as the Blue Devils closed out their regular season with an 8-1 loss to UW-LaCrosse Saturday.

Hinman, who suffered only one conference loss this season, had her hands full at No. 1 singles with Katie McDonald. After dispatching McDonald 6-2 in the first set, Hinman took the match with a 6-4 second set win.

Schick, playing at No. 5 singles, lost to Megan Fallon, 6-3, 6-2.

Hinman and Abby Werwie (Fr, Kenosha) were beaten at No. 1 doubles in an 8-5 decision.

Stout will participate in the WIAC Tennis Championships, Oct. 24-25 at the Nielsen Tennis Center on the UW-Madison campus.
