FITCHBURG (September 5, 2008) - Sarah Smith (So, Stevens Point) picked up a pair of wins for UW-Stout, but the Blue Devils were edged by Edgewood College, 5-4, at McKee Farms Park Friday.
Smith teamed with Kallie Anderson (Loretto, Minn) for close 9-8 (7-5) win at No. 3 doubles, then came back and took win at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-2.
Emily Jubert (Fr, Green Bay) won at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-0, and Stephanie Schick (Fr, Altoona) won at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-4.
The Blue Devils will play at the UW-Whitewater Tournament Saturday, Sept. 6 and at Beloit College, Sunday, Sept. 7.
