Blue Devils get into win column

MENOMONIE  (September 27, 2008) - The UW-Stout tennis team got into the win column with a resounding 8-1 win over Bethel University Saturday at the UW-Stout courts.

Amanda O'Keefe (Fr, Stillwater, Minn) and Lindsey Luberda (Jr, Champlin, Minn) made things interesting before putting their opponents away.

O'Keefe dropped her first set at No. 2 singles, 6-1, then came through and took care of Ashley Dohlen, 6-4, 10-4.

Luberda dominated her first set at No. 4 singles, 6-0, then lost the second set by the identical score. She took the super tie breaker, 10-3 over Sarah LeVahn.

Allie Hinman (So, Lino Lakes, Minn) had few problems at No. 1 singles, winning 6-1, 6-3. Emily Jubert (Fr, Green Bay) dominated at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Kiersten Thomsen (Jr, Andover, Minn) won at No. 3, 7-5, 6-4.

Hinman and O'Keefe paired at No. 1 doubles for an 8-1 win. Luberda and Jubert won at No. 3 doubles, 8-5. Jodie Czech (Sr, Foley, Minn) and Thomsen won at No. 2 doubles, 8-4.

Stout will be at UW-Stevens Point, Saturday, Oct. 4 to take on the Pointers and Ripon College in a pair of matches.
