MENOMONIE (November 22, 2008) - UW-Stout goalie Matt Koenig (Sr, Lakeland, Minn) turned away 37 shots on goal as the Blue Devils made two first period goals stand up in a 2-0 win over UW-Eau Claire Saturday at the Dunn County Ice Arena.
Koenig, who came on in relief the night before and did not allow a goal in 50-plus minutes of work, turned back 14 shots in the first period, 13 in the second and 10 in the third.
Stout (7-4-0, 2-2-0 NCHA) again lived in the penalty box, committing eight penalties, but the Blue Devils' penalty kill was flawless.

Joel Gaulrapp (Jr, Owatonna, Minn) doubled the score with a goal with three minutes left in the first period on assists by Motz and Jack Wolgemuth (Sr, Anchorage, Alaska).
