MENOMONIE (October 18, 2008) - Mandy O'Keefe (Fr, Stillwater, Minn) and Lindsey Luberda (Jr, Champlin, Minn) took their UW-Whitewater opponents, but the Warhawks defeated UW-Stout, 9-0, Saturday.
Both O'Keefe and Luberda won their first set with a 6-1 decision. O'Keefe lost the next two sets at No. 2 singles to Annie Smith, 6-2, 12-10, while Luberda lost her No. 5 match to Jenny Woyhan in the final two sets, 6-4, 12-10.
Allie Hinman (So, Lino Lakes, Minn) took Ingrid Stensvaag to a tie breaker in the first set at No. 1 singles, but dropped the match, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
Stout will be off until they compete at the WIAC Tennis Championships, Oct. 25-26 at the Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison.
