Following five years as UW-Stout Athletic's event manager, Erik Johnson has been the Recreation/Athletic Complex Facility Manager since 2015 where he oversees the indoor and outdoor athletic and recreation facilities.
A 2009 UW-Stout graduate in Service Management, Johnson earned his masters from Winona State University in Education Leadership with a concentration in Sports Management in 2014.
Johnson, a native of La Crosse, Wis., worked in event management during his student days at Stout and was a four-year standout as an outfielder on the Blue Devil baseball team from 2005-08, earning All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athlete Conference (WIAC) honors in 2007. During the 2007 season, Johnson was second in the WIAC in runs batted in (RBI) with 47, a mark that is second on the UW-Stout single season list.
Johnson played in 148 games throughout his Stout career, starting 144 games, mostly in right field. Johnson is currently second on the school's all-time at-bat list (521), third in RBI (123) and doubles (35), eighth in hits (163) and 11th in runs scored (104).
Johnson and his wife, Katie, a former Blue Devil softball player, reside in Menomonie with their daughter, Maggie, and son, Reggie. Katie is a Community Nutrition Educator at Mayo Health System in Menomonie.
