Erin Sullivan

Erin Sullivan was selected as Director of Athletics and Recreation at UW–Stout on July 1, 2025, entering her 22nd year with the Blue Devil athletics department. She previously served as Deputy Director of Athletics (2022–25), Associate Athletic Director (2014–22), and Assistant Athletic Director (2008–14), and has held the role of Senior Woman Administrator since 2014.

Sullivan oversees the full scope of Blue Devil Athletics and University Recreation, with prior responsibilities including internal operations such as budget and financial management, event operations, facilities, camps and clinics, and athletics communication. She has been instrumental in adding women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, and Esports to UW–Stout’s athletics offerings.

She is currently serving a four-year term on the NCAA Division III Nominating Committee (2024–28) and was selected to participate in the prestigious NCAA Pathway Program during the 2023–24 academic year—a professional development initiative designed to prepare senior-level administrators for the next step in their athletics leadership careers.

Sullivan has directed numerous major events, including serving as tournament director for the first and second rounds of the 2025 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament hosted by UW–Stout. That season, the Blue Devils went on to advance to the Final Four. She was also the meet director for the 2017 NCGA Championship and chaired the NCAA Volleyball Midwest Regional Advisory Committee from 2011–15.

Her leadership has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Chancellor’s Academic Staff Award for Excellence (2017) and back-to-back NCGA West Region Administrator of the Year awards (2016, 2017).

Before moving into administration, Sullivan was an assistant women’s basketball coach at UW–Stout from 2003–07, guiding the team to three WIAC titles and three NCAA Division III playoff appearances.

A native of Cadott, Wisconsin, she played basketball at UW–Parkside, earning a bachelor’s degree in sports management, and holds a master’s degree in education from UW–Stout. She lives in Menomonie with her husband, Jeff, and their sons, Oliver and Lincoln.
