Paul Mitchell

The 2017-18 season marks Paul Mitchell's fifth season as the head coach of the Blue Devils.

During the 2014-15 season, Mitchell increased the Blue Devils' schedule, putting together one of the most in-depth schedules in Stout tennis history, extending matches in a three-state area.

During Mitchell's first season with the Blue Devils (2013-14, UW-Stout moved up a spot at the WIAC Tennis Championship and numbers have risen in the program.

The 2013-14 season marked a return to the UW-Stout women’s tennis program for Mitchell.

After two seasons as the head women’s tennis coach at UW-River Falls, Mitchell returned to Menomonie, but this time as the head coach. Mitchell was an assistant women’s tennis coach with the Blue Devils program for three seasons from 2004-06.

With the Blue Devils, Mitchell assisted then head coach Mark Noll in reviving the program. Mitchell left Stout to assume the head coaching position at Winona State University for the 2006-07 season, leading the Warriors to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) regular season championship. The Warriors finished 6-0 in NSIC play. At UW-River Falls, the Falcons finished sixth in the highly competitive WIAC, posting a 4-8 overall record in 2012 and 3-8 in 2011.

Mitchell is currently the business development manager at Express Employment Professionals. Mitchell was the food and nutrition director at Mayo Health Systems in Menomonie  from 2012-17. Mitchell had been with Sodexo since 2006.  In June, 2011 Mitchell was named the Sodexo operations manager for the Hazelden Treatment Center in Center City, Minn. From 2008-11 he was the Sodexo retail manager at UW-River Falls.

Mitchell and his wife, Tina, a former Blue Devil player and current Blue Devil assistant coach, live in New Richmond, with their two sons.
