Marcos Rodriguez became the fifth head coach of the Blue Devil women's soccer team in April 2025.
UW-STOUT (2023-Present)
Rodriguez was hired in the summer of 2023 to build the men's soccer program from the ground up, with the inaugural season in the fall of 2024. He moved to the women's program in the spring of 2025
2024: The Blue Devils men's soccer team went 2-16-1 in their inaugural season. The first ever men’s soccer game was played on campus on Nelson Field, a 2-0 loss to Hamline University on August 30, 2024. On Sept. 1, Luca Jones scored the programs first ever goal in the 37
th minute against Lakeland University. Stout picked up their first win, a 3-1 triumph over Northland College on Sept. 4. Stout earned their first clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Minnesota-Morris on Sept. 15. Luca Jones led the team in scoring with four goals and an assist for nine points, Cris Maschio receive honorable mention All-WIAC honors.
BEFORE UW-STOUT
St. Catherine University (2022-23) an assistant coach at St. Catherine's University in St. Paul, where he helped lead the Wildcats to a 13-5-4 record and an MIAC tournament championship with an appearance in the NCAA tournament.
UW-Stout (2021-22) Rodriguez coached the goalkeepers for the Blue Devils' women's team during the 2021 season. That year the goalkeepers had a combined goals against average of 1.19 with six clean sheets in 20 games played.
Since 2016, Rodriguez has been the goalkeeper director and administrative assistant for St. Croix Soccer in Stillwater, Minn., where he also coached the U13 and U17 academy girls.
Rodriguez has been the head boys varsity coach at River Falls High School since 2018. From 2015-18 he was the B Squad coach and goalkeeper coach at Mahtomedi (Minn.) High School. The Zephyrs were three-time conference champions and 2017 Class A state champions.
PLAYING CAREER
Presentation College (2014) Rodriguez was the starting goalkeeper in the 2014 season. He was sixth in the nation in saves per game and 10th in total saves.
Iowa Lakes Community College (2012-13) Rodriguez played soccer and baseball.
PERSONAL
A St. Paul, Minn. native, Rodriguez earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from Southern New Hampshire University.
