More about Sarah Kholos
Why did you choose UW-Stout?: To continue gymnastics at the Divison III level, for new experiences being a girl born and raised in Los Angeles. Also because Stout felt like a place that I could fit in, be comfortable with and call home.
Something you may not know about me: I'm really weird, I still play with my Barbies and have a huge fear of bugs
Started gymnastics at age: 7
What is your nickname?: Curley and Cocakholos
As a child, I pretended to be: a mermaid, a princess and any possible animal
My favorite food: lettuce, ice cream and sushi
If I were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would I take with me?: cell phone, Michelinni-poopingkah (aka my best friend aka naked belly button in Russian), and a hair brush so that my hair doesn't try to take over the world!
My favorite gymnasts are: Nadia Comaneci, Kerri Strong, Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin
My most funny, memorable gymnastics story: One of my most funny, memorable stories was when my group was on cross tumbling and we all knew that our coach was having a bad day and wasn't paying any attention to us. So, I decided to fake trip right in the middle of the floor instead of doing my tumbling pass, just to see how she would react. After I tripped, our coach couldn't stop laughing and just talked about funny tripping memories until the end of our rotation. She never knew that it was all a plan!
Community Service/Volunteer Activities: feeding the homeless and sports buddies
If I could be on a reality show, I would be on: The Bachelorette- not to get hitched, just so that I could be around all those hot guys 24/7!
This offseason, I worked on: Conditioning! Especially arms...as for the events, bars and beam.
I look up to: All my teammates, they never fail to impress me. My Coaches, they are always teaching me something new. Former and previous Olympic gymnasts. Anyone and everyone that can teach me something new.
