More about Kayla Widmar
Why did you choose UW-Stout?: My teammate Vanessa brought it to my head. I had to listen to my best friend!
Something you may not know about me: I pluck hairs; mine, yours, whomevers need a good plucking...My best friend for life is Vanessa Zahratka. We've been teammates for 7 years now and friends for approximately 5 years! Love her oh so much :)
Started gymnastics at age: 3
As a child, I pretended to be: a dog
My favorite sporting event, other than UW-Stout gymnastics: Hockey! It's a family thing.
My favorite food: Pineapple, pretty much any fruit but pineapple because it gives Britt canker sores.
If I were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would I take with me?: a spear (for catching fish), Vanessa (she's got a brain for sticky situations), and one of those sleeping bags made for negative temperatures.
My most funny, memorable Stout gymnastics story: When Ashley told me she was living on just peanut butter sandwiches, chocolate milk, and whales all winterm last year.
My favorite gymnast: Ashley Nelson!
Community Service/Volunteer Activities: Habitat for Humanity, Acorn race, U of M football security, Relay for Life
If I could be on a reality show, I would be on: John and Kate plus 8. Oh wait! They're divorced now, that might be weird.
This offseason, I worked on: trying to get healthy and heal from knee surgery.
I look up to: My mom and dad because they made me exactly who I am. They helped shape my morals and values and helped me become the dedicated and hard-working gymnast that I am.
