Becky Iaccino (American pronunciation: eye uh see no / Italian pronunciation: ee uh chee no) has seen the world with her softball experience and continues to bring that experience to the UW-Stout program. The 2020-21 season was the sixth season for Iaccino as the head softball coach at UW-Stout.
Iaccino defines herself as an offensive-minded coach, stressing the short game, consistency and power. And the Blue Devils have steadily seen that philosophy come to life. In each of Iaccino's first two years, the Blue Devils' team batting average has increased, topping .300 in 2017.Â
Shortstop Shannon Jones earned first team all-conference honors in 2021.Â
The 2020 Blue Devils were off to a solid start, 3-1, after their first weekend of games when the remainder of the spring season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2019, Kyncaide Diedrich earned first team all-conference and second team all-region honors. Junior outfielder Mary Iliopoulos started off the season on a national watch list and earned first team all-conference honors for the second consecutive year and was selected first team all-region. Jessica Daley and Meghan Kelly both earned honorable mention honors.Â
Mary Iliopoulus and Kyncaide Diedrich earned all-region honors in 2018, with Iliopoulus earned All-America honors by Fastpitch News. Beth Wood cleaned up both on the field and in the classroom. The four-year pitcher earned Academic All-America honors, was the WIAC Judy Kruckmann Scholar-Athlete award recipient and led five Blue Devils to the WIAC All-Conference team, including Iliopoulus, Rachel Thomas, Alicia Meyer and Melea Bruns.
The Blue Devils in 2017 worked their way through the WIAC tournament, coming up one game short of the WIAC championship game. The 2017 Blue Devils landed five players on the All-WIAC team, the team's most all-conference players since 2013. Outfielder Kaylee Francois earned first team selection. Pitchers Beth Wood and McKayla Brunner, along with catcher Rachel Thomas and pitcher/outfielder Kyncaide Diedrich earned honorable mention honors..
Pitcher/outfielder Tori Workman was selected as a first team All-WIAC selection for the fourth time in 2016. Pitcher/first baseman Beth Wood and catcher Rachel Thomas were honorable mention selections.
A graduate of NCAA Division I Indiana State, Iaccino played professionally in Italy from 2003 to 2011 and with the Italian National team from 2005-07. She has been the head coach at Marian University where she was selected as conference coach of the year, and has eight years of experience as an assistant coach at Division I and III programs, most recently at Concordia University Chicago.
Iaccino played collegiately at Indiana State University where she served as the team’s captain and earned all-conference honors. Upon graduation, Iaccino played professionally in Italy from 2003 to 2011. Some highlights from her club career include playing for Bollati in 2003, which won the Italian Softball League championship, and playing in 2007 with Forli, which won the European Cup Championship. In her final season, she won a Gold Glove and was named an All-Star while playing for Macerata.
Iaccino also played for the Italian National team from 2005 to 2007. During that time, Italy won consecutive European Championships, their seventh and eighth titles overall. In 2006, the team finished sixth in the International Softball Federation World Championships in Beijing, China and, in 2007, finished second in the EURAFRICA Olympic Qualifier, one out from qualifying to the Olympic Games.
Iaccino returned to the US in 2012 where she assumed the positions of player development instructor and coach for the Downers Grove, Ill., Rebels softball club. Iaccino joined the softball coaching staff at Concordia-Chicago for the 2013-14 season, working with the Cougars for two seasons before joining the UW-Stout staff.
Iaccino also brings quality coaching experience to her position at UW-Stout. She was the head coach at Marian, Wis., University in Fond du Lac and was named the Lake Michigan Conference Coach of the Year in 2003. She was also an assistant coach at Indiana State University for one season and at Elmhurst College for five seasons.
Iaccino graduated from the Indiana State University in 2000 with a BS in Athletic Training. Iaccino completed her masters in Exercise Science with a concentration in Corrective Exercise/Human Movement from Concordia-Chicago in 2015.

Iaccino is the fourth head coach in the UW-Stout softball program, which began varsity play in 1992. She is also an instructor in the Kinesiology, Health, Food and Nutrition Sciences department.Â

Becky Iaccino mini-bio
Becky Iaccino brings a wealth of softball experience to UW-Stout, both as a player and as a coach. Iaccino was named the UW-Stout head softball coach in July, 2015. She is the fourth coach in program history. Iaccino is a graduate of Indiana State University where she was the team captain and an all-conference selection. Iaccino played professionally in Italy from 2003 to 2011 and was also a member of the Italian National team from 2005 to 2007, a team that was only one out away from advancing to the 2008 Olympic Games. As the head coach at Marian University in Fond du Lac, Iaccino was the Lake Michigan Conference coach of the year in 2003. She comes to Stout after two years as the assistant coach at Concordia-Chicago. She was an assistant coach for one year at Indiana State and five years at Elmhurst College. She is a native of the Chicago area.
