Christian Lucchesi begins his first year as an assistant coach in 2019 following an All-America career as a Blue Devil. Lucchesi will work with the pole vaulters.
A three-year Blue Devil team captain, Lucchesi was the 2018 WIAC Outdoor Track and Field recipient of the Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete Award. He won the conference outdoor title in the pole vault at the 2015 championship. At the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship, Lucchesi took seventh in the event to secure All-America accolades. In indoor competition, Lucchesi finished second in the pole vault at the 2016 conference meet. He was selected UW-Stout's Rookie of the Year in 2015 and received the Anchor Award in 2016 and 2017.
2018: concluded his collegiate career by competing at the NCAA Division III Championship. Lucchesi cleared 15-9 on his third attempt, but could not get over 16-0.75 and finished 13th. Lucchesi earned an All-America award when he finished seventh at the NCAA outdoor meet in 2016. This was Lucchesi's third trip to the NCAA outdoor championship. He also advanced once to the national indoor meet....finished ninth in pole vault at WIAC outdoor championship, 10th at the WIAC indoor championship.
2017: team captain...competed in pole vault indoors and outdoors, season-best outdoor height of 15-2.25 at St. Mary's Open, best indoor height of 15-5.75 at St. Thomas Showcase.
2016: received team Anchor Award...finished second in WIAC indoor pole vault, fourth at outdoor meet...advanced to national meet in both indoor and outdoor, earning All-America honors with a seventh place finish at outdoor meet...
2015: received team rookie of the year award...
Outdoor: captured WIAC pole vault title with career-best leap of 16-5.25...advanced to NCAA Championship, finishing 11th (15-10.5)...first at St. Mary's Invite (15-6.25)...marked six top five finishes in pole vault...also ran as member of 4x400-relay team...
Indoor: placed fifth at WIAC Championship (15-7.75)...took first place honors at Warren Bowlus Open and Pointer Invite...recorded six top five finishes...
