Cole Schwartz

Cole Schwartz became the second head coach of the Blue Devil men's soccer team in April 2025.

Hamline University (2023-25) an assistant coach at Hamline University in St. Paul, he helped guide the Pipers to a 22-12-3 record from 2023 to 2024. During his tenure, Hamline achieved a program-record 14 wins in 2024, tied for fourth nationally among NCAA Division III regular-season teams, and secured multiple top-10 regional rankings. Schwartz played a key role in developing two consecutive MIAC Rookies of the Year, four All-MIAC First Team selections, and a program-record 56 goals in the 2024 season. His contributions also included recruiting, tactical analysis, and practice management, transforming Hamline from a 10th-place MIAC finish to a competitive seventh-place standing in his first year.
 
Schwartz currently serves as head coach for Lakeville Soccer Club's UPSL team, the top Lakeville U17 select team, and the Minnesota Olympic Development Program. He has also spent time coaching the Two Rivers Junior Varsity Team in West St. Paul, Minn.
 

PLAYING CAREER



Minneapolis City SC (2019-23) Was the clubs leading scorer in 2020 and 2021. Played in the NPSL, UPSL and USL2.

Gustavus Adolphus College (2019-21) a three-year member of the Gustavus Adolphus men's soccer program from 2019-2021 after he transferred from NCAA Division I Radford University. Schwartz accumulated 34 goals and 11 assists for 79 points over 43 career games played as a forward for the Gusties. The 2019 season resulted in a school record 24 goals and seven assists for 55 points for Schwartz, which ranked third in NCAA Division III. He earned two COSIDA Academic All-American accolades, as well as spots on the 2019 United Soccer Coaches All-American First Team, and the 2019 MIAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Team.
 

PERSONAL


A Jakarta, Indonesia native, Schwartz has had a global upbringing, living in Poland, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Virginia, and Minnesota as the son of international school teachers. He earned a bachelor's degree in physical and health education with a coaching minor from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2021 and his Master's in Soccer Coaching Education from Ohio University in 2025.
