Tim Routheaux begins his first year with the Blue Devil men's basketball program with the 2016-17 season.
A native of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Routheaux is no stranger to Wisconsin basketball. Routheaux turned around the men's basketball program at Western Technical College in La Crosse. In his three years at the school from 2009-12, Routheaux took over a program that was 1-27 and left with a 49-35 overall record.
His Western Tech team posted the first winning record at the school in more than a decade. During his time at Western, the team twice won the Hibbing, Minn., Holiday Tournament and made a semi-final appearance in the state tournament.
Routheaux comes to Menomonie after serving as the head men's basketball coach at Hibbing Community College in Hibbing, Minn., during the 2015-16 season. In his one season at Hibbing, Routheaux improved the team's record from 4-23 overall in the season before he arrived, to 13-14 overall during the 2015-16 season.
Routheaux taught and coached at Luther L Wright High School in Ironwood, Mich., where he coached basketball and softball.
A native of Ironwood, Mich., Routheaux received an associates degree from Gogebic Community College, a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Waldorf College and a master's degree in education from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc.
