Inducted into Hall of Fame 1979...Was considered one of the strongest linemen ever to play the game for Stout. It is difficult to break the circle of anonymity that surrounds the offensive line but Krall has managed to do it in gaining Hall of Fame recognition. Krall won all-conference honors in 1959, '60 and '61 playing offensive tackle and clearing the way for fabled running back Glenn Harke. He was NAIA honorable mention All-American in 1959. Before coming to Stout, he played one year at Virginia (Minn.) Junior College where he also received All-American honors. He also participated in track at Stout and served as an assistant coach in 1962.



MENOMONIE (April 19, 2017) - One of the best offensive linemen to ever don the Navy and White of UW-Stout passed away April 5, 2017, at his home in New Berlin, Ill.

Patrick Krall, a three-time all-conference lineman, played for the Blue Devils from 1959 to 1961. Krall was selected to the UW-Stout Athletic Hall of Fame in 1979.

Krall, a native of Mountain Lake, Minn., came to what was then Stout State College after an All-American season at Virginia Community College in northern Minnesota. Previous to that, Krall was a member of the freshman football team at the University of Minnesota.  Krall earned NAIA All-America honorable mention honors in 1959 and was the Blue Devils' most valuable player in 1961, his senior season. Krall signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Vikings in 1962. He was a Blue Devil assistant coach in 1962.

After graduating from  Stout with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Education, he worked as an Instructor and Supervisor of Regional Training for Allis-Chalmers for 29 years, from 1962 to 1991, traveling the world going to countries like Singapore, Libya, Switzerland and Australia, as well as in the United States and Canada. Patrick Krall complete obituary
