Rich Rossi begins his first year in 2013 as a Blue Devil assistant and will work with the wide receivers.
A four-year performer who never caught fewer than 22 passes during his collegiate career at NCAA Division I Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn., where he was an all-Northeast Conference (NEC) selection at tight end and wide receiver. Rossi carved out a spot in the Sacred Heart football record, finishing second in career receptions (155) and receiving yards (1759), and is currently fifth in school history in touchdown receptions with 14. Rossi had 49 receptions as a senior, 51 as a junior, 35 as a sophomore and 22 as a freshman.
Rossi, a team captain, earned a national performance award three times in 2011, his senior year, including twice hauling in eight passes in a single game. Rossi was selected to play in the 2012 Casino Del Sol All-Star Game in Tuscon, Ariz., and was invited to the New England Patriots camp.
A native of Moosic, Penn., Rossi earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Sacred Heart in 2012. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in education from UW-Stout.
