2026 will be Jake Schiff’s ninth season as the defensive line coach.  
 

UW-STOUT (2018-Present)


2025: The Blue Devils went 6-5 in 2025 and earned back-to-back selections to the Culver’s Isthmus Bowl in Sun Prairie, Wis. The Blue Devils defeated WashU-St. Louis 31-23 to become the 5th Annual Culver’s Isthmus Bowl Champions. Stout reached 20th in the national rankings and defeated rival UW-Eau Claire for the 10th year in a row. The defense had six players named All-WIAC, including defensive lineman Walker Beyerl, and two players named D3football.com all-region (Blaine Seidl, Brooks Brewer).
2024: The Blue Devils went 6-5, 4-3 for their first winning season since 2017 and qualified for postseason play for the first time since 2000. Stout played in the Culver’s Isthmus Bowl falling 35-32 to Wheaton. Stout played seven games against ranked opponents, defeating #16 Dickinson State, #8 Whitewater and #13 Oshkosh. Brooks Brewer was named to the All-Region Team. Three Blue Devil defensive players were named to the All-WIAC Team.
2023: Cannon Griner was selected to the All-Region Team. Three Blue Devil defensive players were named to the All-WIAC Team.
2022: Scott Gustafson was named honorable mention. The Blue Devils had 52 tackles for loss, 20 sacks, and 30 quarterback hurries.
2021: Defensive lineman Scott Gustafson was a second team all-conference selection. Gustafson was a menace to opposing kickers, as he blocked four field goals and extra points throughout the season, he also was one of the top leaders for Stout in tackles for a loss. Gustafson has six career blocked kicks.
2020: Season canceled due to COVID-19
2019: Defensive lineman Mason Olson earned second team all-conference honors while Aaron Wisecup earned honorable mention laurels.
2018: The Blue Devils were fourth in the WIAC allowing 27.1 points a game. And 219. Passing yards per game.
 

BEFORE UW-STOUT


Northwestern High School (2017) was an assistant football and an assistant basketball coach at Northwestern. Schiff was also in charge of all strength and conditioning for football and basketball.
Heartland Communication (2016-17) Schiff was an account executive with Heartland Communications, working with advertisers in a five-county area. Schiff did play-by-play and color commentary for WNXR radio during the 2016-17 seasons for football and basketball. Schiff hosted "Friday Night Lights Scoreboard Report," a show that presented high school scores from throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and the upper peninsula of Michigan.
Menomonie High School (2015) Schiff worked with Menomonie High School athletics events, coordinating boys and girls hockey, wrestling and boys and girls basketball.
University of Wisconsin-Stout (2014-15) Student assistant coach working with the Blue Devil defensive backs. Also did a strength and conditioning internship.
 

PLAYING CAREER


University of Wisconsin-Stout (2010-13) Schiff played in 28 games and led the team in interceptions his senior year.
 
At Northwestern High School, Schiff was an all-conference athlete and team captain.
 

PERSONAL


A Lakeside, Wis. native, Schiff earned his bachelor’s degree in health, wellness and fitness from UW-Stout in 2014.
