With the 2013 season, Dane Wardenburg begins his first season as a Blue Devil football assistant and will work with the offensive line.
Wardenburg had two offensive linemen named to the All-WIAC team, Devon Greiber a first team selection and David Reyes a second team pick. Greiber earned all-region honors and was drafted by an indoor football league. Both Greiber and Reyes played in post-season all-star games.
Wardenburg comes to UW-Stout from Northwest Missouri State University where he started more than 30 games at left offensive tackle for Bearcats. Northwest Missouri State won the NCAA Division II national championship in 2009 and was a semi-finalist in 2010. Wardenburg was a 2010 MIAA first team all-conference selection and a 2010 first team all-region pick. Wardenburg also was a member of the USA World Championship team in 2011, where he started every game in the tournament and went on to be named to the all-tournament first team.
Wardenburg hung up his cleats and served as a graduate assistant coach for Northwest Missouri State from January 2010 until coming to Stout in the spring of 2013. While coaching with the Bearcats, Wardenburg worked with the offensive line and tight ends. Northwest Missouri State, during the 2012 season, averaged 41 points per game.
Wardenburg received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Northwest Missouri State. Wardenburg earned a bachelor of sciences in corporate recreation and wellness in December, 2010 and his masters in applied health and sports science. Wardenburg is a native of Creston, Iowa.
