Brian Alvarez

Following an all-WIAC career, Brian Alvarez begins his first season in 2016 as a Blue Devil assistant and will work with the wide receivers.

A native of Atwater, Calif., Alvarez played two seasons for the Blue Devils after transferring from Modesto Junior College. During the 2015 season, Alvarez was the Blue Devils' leading scorer with eight TDs and led the team in receiving yards with 725. His 1250 career receiving yards puts him 16th on the UW-Stout all-time receiving list. Alvarez was a second team all-WIAC pick in 2015.

2015: team captain...selected as offensive player of the week September 7 after catching seven passes for 135 yards, including a 45-yard pass that set up UW-Stout's first score of the game...selected as UW-Stout/Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week after caching a career best 10 passes for 159 yards and three TDs in a win over UW-Eau Claire... led the team in scoring (48, eighth in WIAC), all purpose yards (868, sixth in WIAC), receiving yards (725, third in WIAC), recieving touchdowns (9, sixth in WIAC) and second on team in receptions (37, ninth in WIAC)...selected to all-WIAC second team...played in D3 Senior Bowl...2013: led team in receptions with 51...selected as UW-Stout/Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week after catching 10 passes for 120 yards and a TD in a win over UW-River Falls, hauled in seven passes for 111 yards in first half...also had a season-long 43 yard reception vs. Falcons...played in all 10 games...Junior College: competed at Modesto Junior College first team all conference...first team all state...Personal: enjoys listening to music, playing sports, being with friends...Parents: Felix Alvarez, Sr. and Mary Jane Sapien
