Bayreuther joined the UW-Stout Baseball staff in the fall of 2018
UW-STOUT (2019-Present)
In his five seasons at UW-Stout, Bayreuther has coached nine All-WIAC selections, eight ABCA All-Region selection, seven D3baseball.com All-Region selections and an ABCA and D3baseball.com All-American.
In the classroom, Bayreuther has coached 162 WIAC Scholastic Honor roll honorees, and four CSC Academic All-District selections.
2023: The Blue Devils went 15-18 in 2023, playing just three true home games due to weather. Justin Sedin was 12
th in the nation in on base percentage (.553) and was named All-WIAC andd3baseball.com and ABCA All-Region. Freshman pitcher Tucker Beving was named All-WIAC honorable mention.
2022: Kincaid led the Blue Devils to their third 20-plus win season (21-19). Shortstop Charlie Szykowny earned All-America honors by D3baseball.com and by ABCA/Rawlings. Szykowny was joined on the All-District team in both organizations by Joel Thimsen, who was a third team honoree. Szykowny was a finalist for the WIAC player of the year and first team All-WIAC selection. Thimsen and Jacoby Endreas were honorable mention picks.
2021: The 2021 Blue Devils put together their most wins in a single season since 2007 and the Blue Devils returned to the WIAC tournament for the first time since 2014. Stout opened the playoffs with a 2-0 win over UW-Oshkosh in Stout's first home playoff game since the early 1990s. The Blue Devils went into the tournament and upended top-seeded UW-Stevens Point 15-0 in seven innings. Kasey Bass, Charlie Szykowny, James Palmer and Hunter Merrill each earned all-region honors. And Palmer threw the first nine inning no-hitter in school history, blanking UW-Platteville, May 4, with a nine strikeout effort at Nelson Field.
2020: The Blue Devils were 2-1 before the season was canceled due to COVID-19.
2019: The 2019 season was the Blue Devils' most successful season in several years as the program returned to the WIAC Championship tournament for the first time since 2014. The team doubled the number of wins from the previous season, finishing 20-17, the Blue Devils had three players earn all-conference honors – first baseman Kasey Bass, outfielder Jordan Wilson and pitcher Casey Ryan. Bass and Wilson both earned all-region honors.
BEFORE UW-STOUT
Wayne State University (2017-18) Bayreuther spent the 2017-18 seasons as a graduate assistant coach. In 2018 the Wildcats finished 21-26 overall and seventh place in the NSIC with an 18-16 league mark. The 2017 Wildcats finished with a 29-24 overall record and a fourth place finish in the NSIC with a 23-15 league mark. The Wildcats were 14-6 in games decided by two runs or less and made a dramatic improvement in pitching from the previous season as the team's ERA went from 8.22 to 4.97 in the 2017 season. WSC tied for first in the league with 14 team saves and the Wildcat pitching staff allowed just 20 home runs all season to tie for second in the league.
Madison Mallards (2017) Bayreuther worked as the hitting coach and as an operations intern. The Mallards finished second in the league in runs scored and RBIs that summer.
Ripon College (2014-16)Bayreuther spent three seasons as a volunteer assistant coach. In 2015, Ripon won their 21st MWC Championship in program history, advancing to the NCAA Midwest Regional in La Crosse, Wis. In their first game of that Regional, the Red Hawks defeated defending national champion and third-ranked UW-Whitewater. In that season, Bayreuther healped coach Michael Polcyn and Marshall Zahn to their second consecutive MWC North Player and Pitcher of the Year awards, respectively. Polcyn was also named All-American Honorable Mention and went on to sign an undrafted free agent deal with a St. Louis Cardinals minor league affiliate. In 2014, Bayruether helped coach the Red Hawks to a 14-2 conference record and a first-place finish in the MWC North Division. He also helped coach MWC North Player of the Year (Michael Polcyn) and MWC North Pitcher of the Year (Marshall Zahn). Polcyn also earned Central Region Player of the Year and All-American First Team honors.
PLAYING CAREER
Ripon College (2010-13) Bayreuther was the starting shortstop on three Midwest Conference Championship teams. As a player, Bayreuther played in the second-most games in school history (150) and holds the school record for career walks (94). In his four years on the team, Bayreuther batted .288, with 23 doubles, four triples, one home run, and 62 RBI.
At Janesville Craig High School Bayreuther finished his senior season with a .409 average and was the catalyst behind Craig’s drive to the state tournament. He led the team with 38 hits, 31 runs scored, nine doubles and 12 stolen bases. He was named WBCA second-team.
PERSONAL
A Janesville, Wis. native, Bayreuther earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Ripon College in 2013 and a master’s degree in organizational management in 2018 from Wayne State.
