UW-Stout Football Centennial

UW-Stout Football Centennial

The 2011 season marked the 100th year anniversary of the UW-Stout football program. The football team held a celebration during the annual homecoming festivities, Saturday, Oct. 1, with a reunion of former football players, including a pregame tailgate party and a post game party at the Stout Ale House. Hundreds of alumni players were honored at halftime of the game, with the oldest football alumni in attendance serving as honorary captains.  |  Additional Football Alumni Reunion Information

In conjunction with The Dunn County News and the Dunn County Historical Society, the UW-Stout sports information office ran a 10-week series that explores the first 100 years of the football program, by decade. Below is a link for each of the stories, and some extra stories, that appear as part of the series. The series was penned by Chuck Barkus of the Dunn County Historical Society, Jim Gorecki, a former Blue Devil player from the mid-1980s and Layne Pitt, UW-Stout sports information director.
