MENOMONIE — The University of Wisconsin-Stout Polytechnic women's soccer team defeated Saint Mary's University of Minnesota 4-0 on Wednesday night. The Blue Devils held Saint Mary's without a shot on goal while finishing with a 16-5 shot advantage and three second-half goals.

Stout created the first pressure of the half with a corner kick 16 seconds in and early shots from Tessa Pagel and Bella Mickey, while Saint Mary's countered with first-half attempts by Hannah Bradley and Kaylen Pray. The Blue Devils kept generating chances midway through the half, including an Alli LaVick shot wide left and a Pagel attempt at 21:52 that Kelsy Siercks saved. After a stretch that included several fouls by both teams, Kasey Stauner scored at 35:58 off assists from Lizzy Dallas and Kayla White, and UW-Stout carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Blue Devils stayed on the front foot early in the second half, getting shots from Mickey, Mia Brunelli and LaVick around a Saint Mary's attempt and adding corner kicks at 54:05 and 61:24. After another corner at 66:03 and a saved Sami Moseng shot at 66:42, White scored at 66:44 off assists from Kasey Stauner and Dallas to push the lead to 2-0. Stout added another late sequence when White had a shot blocked at 78:34 and Hannah Bolte scored four seconds later off White's assist, and Chloe Butalla finished from Pagel at 82:20 to make it 4-0. Saint Mary's put a shot wide shortly after, and UW-Stout closed out the half with Kristen Silenzi's shutout intact in a 4-0 final.

White scored once and added two assists for a team-high four points. Kasey Stauner recorded one goal and one assist, with her goal listed as the game-winning goal and first goal. Dallas tallied two assists in her appearance off the bench. Silenzi recorded the clean sheet for her fifth shutout of the season.

UW-Stout is 4-3-2 overall and will travel to St. Paul, Minn., to face St. Catherine University on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m.
