DAVENPORT, Fla. - The University of Wisconsin-Stout baseball team picked up a pair of hard-fought victories on Thursday at Northeast Regional Park to wrap up their spring break trip. Stout topped Carleton College 4-1 and walked off Ripon College 4-3 in game two.
Carleton scored in the bottom of the second to take an early lead.
Kevin Zanin singled to left and moved to second on a stolen base.
Gavyn Schacher drove in Zanin with a single to left to tie the game at one.
The game remained scoreless until the top of the ninth. The first two Blue Devil batters reached base and came around to score on a Zanin double. Zanin would come around to score on Schacher's sac fly to right to give Stout a 4-1 lead. Carleton loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning but
Lane Whiting shut the door to secure the win.
Kevin Zanin finished 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI.
Gavyn Schacher contributed two hits and drove in two runs, while
Austin Miller added two hits.

Stout used a late inning rally to walk off Ripon 4-3 in game two. The Blue Devils trailed 3-0 after one. Stout got a run back in the third on
Ryan Kelly RBI single. In the bottom of the eighth
Austin Miller and
Connor Marino homered to tie the game at three. In the bottom of the ninth,
Kevin Zanin reached on an infield single and stole second.
Gavyn Schacher singled to left for the walk off win.

Stout will be back in action on Monday, March 23 when the travel to St. Peter, Minn. to face the College of St. Scholastica.
