Blue Devil Softball Splits Season Opener

DUNDAS, Minn. – (Feb. 14, 2026) - The UW-Stout softball team opened the 2026 season with a doubleheader at the Dundas Dome. The Blue Devils split their matchups, dropping a close 2-1 contest to Macalester before surging to an 8-3 extra-inning victory over host Carleton.

Game 1: Macalester 2, Wis.-Stout 1
In a defensive battle, the Blue Devils fell just short against Macalester. Stout struck first in the top of the 1st inning when Sarah Wilkins hit a two-out RBI double to right-center, driving in Donna D'Addabbo, who had singled to left earlier in the inning.

Wilkins was also stellar in the circle, pitching a complete game. She allowed zero earned runs and struck out six batters over 6.0 innings. However, Macalester managed to push across two unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth to secure the win.
