RIPON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Stout Polytechnic men's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw against Ripon on Tuesday afternoon at Hopp Stadium.

The Blue Devils (5-7-3) struck first in the fourth minute when Sven Oberg scored off an assist from Patrick Zich to give Stout a 1-0 lead. Oberg finished with two shots on goal, while Zich added an attempt.

Ripon (7-5-2) answered in the 33rd minute when Isaac Kushner scored off a pass from Max Grossman to even the match at 1-1. The Red Hawks created several chances in the first half, but goalkeeper Lucas Biederman made a key save on a Thomas Geocaris shot in the 26th minute, and Seth Schroeder hit the crossbar in the 29th minute.

Both teams looked for a go-ahead goal in the second half. Biederman turned away three more shots on goal after halftime, including attempts from Kushner and Geocaris, to help the Blue Devils maintain the draw. Matthew Hegge hit the right post in the 63rd minute, while Jack Poole put a shot on target for Stout in the 82nd minute.
